I'm a self-taught artist with a passion for creating original aviation art. I've been painting for over ten years, refining my technique with each piece. In the past few years, I have felt that my artwork has improved to a level where I am confident in displaying selected works to the public, entering aviation art competitions, and selling several small commissioned pieces to clients.
I've been lucky enough to get a few paintings into private collections, as well as into museums and television shows. My painting, "Khe Sanh Defender", was accepted as part of an international aviation art competition in Dallas, Texas.
I work primarily in oil on canvas, but I have dabbled in acrylics from time to time. I prefer oils because of its richness of color. It's also quite forgiving, which is good for me. Each painting is a valuable learning experience, as well as an exercise in meeting personal artistic objectives. Some of my goals in completing each original aviation piece include the following:
I've just been accepted into the American Society of Aviation Artists (ASAA) as an Artist Member. I am honored and thrilled to be a part of a great group of artists who have inspired me. With their guidance, I hope to become an established aviation artist. If you would like to know more about the ASAA , please click here.
